Very Bad, Very Bad

It's been a little chilly lately and today it feels as if it is in the 50's. For some reason Xavier does not own a coat and heads across the poplar/brownstone intersection towards the church to see if they have any jackets in the lost and found.
After securing himself a jacket Xavier strolls over to the coffee shop where there are several people standing outside. Xavier approaches a very shy looking girl holding a camera and asks what the hubbub was about. She gave him a very puzzled look and said "didn't you hear, there was..." But before she could finish her sentence, a loud grinding arose from behind the two. Xavier turned around to see a bus trying to make the corner onto poplar however there was obviously something wrong with the engine as the bus sputtered to a stop. A few cars honked and slowly crept by, eyeing the bizarre scene outside the coffee shop.
Xavier attempts to talk to the detective about all the commotion in order to get a better understanding of the situation and maybe even help. His efforts are for naught as the detective and some man are in heavy discussion and pay Xavier no mind.
Since he clearly isn't going to get any coffee at the so-called 24 hour coffee shop he starts to walk down to Casa De Waffles where he heard they may have a special today.
Xavier arrives at Casa De Waffles around 7:45 am and is too late for the special. luckily the kitchen staff made an excess amount of waffles for the special and are now just giving them away. Naturally Xavier takes about 6 or 7 and continues to devour them. He overhears the waitresses discussing something about the coffee shop and how the owner was the first one in Casa De Waffles this morning for the special.
Xavier heads outside to an immediate headache of noise from car horns, dogs barking, and even people barking. He quickly retreats back to the warm comforting waffles.
